Tariff Updates
Effective as of September 1, 2025 the Canadian government removed counter tariffs on numerous imports from the USA into Canada as they may fall within the CUSMA trade agreement (Canada-UnitedStates-Mexico Agreement) as were put in place March 2025. This has allowed some stability in the short term for a number of products we supply.
Canada’s counter tariffs on steel, aluminum and autos remain in effect as negotiations with the United States continue.
Not withstanding as noted above, the United States has implemented numerous duties and tariffs on many countries which are directly impacting products that Pomar imports from our USA partners due to foreign content. Such duties and tariffs are causing surcharges ranging up to 60% which when our inventories rotate will, in some cases, trigger significant price fluctuations. The US Administration’s trade policies remain volatile with world trade partners and as such we are incurring costs that go up and down from shipment to shipment. Pomar will remain committed to provide our customers the best available value solutions for products you consume and are continuously monitoring our costs.
Please reach out to our customer service department staff to provide you with as current pricing based upon inventory options at hand.
